Dunlop Tyres

From its very beginnings, Dunlop has set out to deliver an innovative and performance-driven experience for drivers.

In 1888 Dunlop’s founder, John Boyd Dunlop developed the first air cushioning system in history, laying the foundation for the first pneumatic tyre. Dunlop immediately patented his idea, founding the Dunlop Pneumatic Tire Co. Ltd.

Incredibly, the first Australian Dunlop tyre plant opened in Chinatown, Melbourne just 5 years later in 1893. In just a few years, Dunlop had made the solid tyre obsolete and grown from pioneer to the first global multinational tyre company. It was the start of a love affair with Australia which led to Dunlop being known as “Australia’s tyre”.

Many innovations later, Dunlop continues to be one of the world’s leading tyre companies developing, manufacturing and selling tyres for cars, SUVs, 4×4’s and commercial vehicles.

Dunlop’s excellent reputation among performance car and general driving enthusiasts is built on extensive sports car and motor racing experience, with an impressive track record of successes, leading to innovative tyre technologies for everyday driving.

Dunlop is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high and ultra-high-performance tyres with prestigious original equipment fitments. Many of the most prestigious car makers fit Dunlop tyres as standard, including Alfa Romeo, Audi, AMG, BMW, Honda, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Toyota and Volkswagen.

NTAW was immensely proud to be appointed National Tyre Distributor for Dunlop car and truck tyres in April 2024. We plan to build on Dunlop’s proud legacy of performance in Australasian conditions by providing unmatched customer and product support, building Dunlop brand efficacy and tyre market leadership.
